Meet the Teacher

My name is Miss Kim and I've been running Let's Learn! Preschool from my American Fork home for 19 years. I have wanted to be a teacher as long as I can remember, in fact, my older sister and I started a preschool by the same name when we were pre-teens!  I graduated from BYU in 2000 with a dual degree in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education. I received my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education with a reading endorsement from Utah State University in 2003. My teaching license is current. I attend a yearly 5-day teaching summit to keep up on best practices for educating young children.
While teaching 2nd grade at Amelia Earhart Elementary for five years, I was awarded the Crystal Apple award from Provo School District.  I also served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Germany.  One of my favorite assignments was to teach an English class – especially when all the neighborhood kids came! I also tutored kids of all ages and abilities at the local Sylvan Learning Center.  I've had the opportunity to support our stake's ward primaries, and have spent a lot of time volunteering in my children's school, including the opportunity to serve as the elementary school PTA president.

I have three wonderful children.  I have chosen to teach preschool so that I can be home, while still having the opportunity to teach and influence children.  I believe children need a rich learning environment with many learning experiences to excel in school.  As a trained professional, I’m anxious to provide such opportunities for your child.
